NIG was instrumental in the campaign to bring the .ng country code Top Level Domain under Nigerian stewardship. As a founding advocate and key stakeholder, the Group worked alongside government, the technical community and industry partners to establish the framework that led to the creation of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA), which now administers the .ng domain. NIG continues to support initiatives that promote the growth, adoption and trusted use of .ng as Nigeria's national Internet identity.
