The Nigeria Internet Group is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation founded in 1995 to promote Internet development, awareness, policy advocacy and digital inclusion in Nigeria.
Membership is open to individuals and organisations interested in promoting the Internet in Nigeria. This includes universities, polytechnics, NGOs, government agencies, Internet Service Providers, private organisations, professional bodies, students and individuals.
Members gain access to learning opportunities, newsletters, policy engagement, networking platforms, committee participation and opportunities to contribute to Nigeria's Internet development agenda.
Intending members are required to complete the membership application form and pay the applicable membership fee. The completed form and evidence of payment may be submitted to the NIG Secretariat by email.
NIG membership is available in categories such as Corporate, Corporate Quarterly, Individual and School Chapter membership. Fees may be reviewed from time to time by the organisation.
Yes. Members are encouraged to join standing committees where they can contribute to the work of the Group and the wider Internet community. Committees cover membership, policy, training, youth development, research, publications, business development and more.
NIG organises and supports conferences, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, stakeholder forums, training programmes and digital economy roundtables aimed at promoting Internet awareness and development.
Organisations may partner with NIG on advocacy programmes, research, capacity building, events, policy engagement, digital inclusion initiatives and public awareness campaigns.
